The Proprietors of Private Schools in Nigeria used to operate through splinter Associations, the Nursery and Primary group had an Association, the Secondary Schools group also operated through a parallel Association. This continued for a very long time until sometimes in early 2007 when a national meeting was convened in Abuja.
At the meeting it was agreed that all Private Schools in Nigeria should come under one Association to be named National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS).
It was further agreed upon that a single Association would be better than various Associations within the same business. NAPPS was therefore established nationwide as an umbrella body to accommodate all proprietors of private Nursery, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria to address challenges of mutual benefit to its members and to give a sense of belonging to all members.
Membership is open to all proprietors/proprietresses of government approved private schools in the state duly registered by the association irrespective of caste, creed or race.
Our uniqueness reclines on our unity which is our power. We pledge to help raise and maintain the standard of education in schools in Ogun State, Nigeria.
